Ripley Entertainment, owner of the duck boat that sank in Branson, Missouri killing 17 people, disputes claims by independent inspector Steve Paul that its boats failed to meet Department of Transportation standards. Paul says he found tailpipe design flaws in 24 of 40 boats he inspected in 2017, prior to Ripley’s purchase. Ripley contends Paul passed the boats in his report before acquiring 22 of them later that year.
