I’m Steven S. Paul, an independent Vehicle Expert Witness, ASE Master Technician, and Certified Vehicle Appraiser with over 30 years of hands-on experience. I’ve spent decades diagnosing mechanical failures, conducting forensic inspections, and producing fact-based reports for complex vehicle-related litigation.
From my earliest days in the U.S. Army as a heavy-duty vehicle technician to founding SSP Vehicle Litigation Services in 2009, my career has remained grounded in accuracy, safety, and service. I now bring that same standard to every inspection, report, and courtroom appearance.

I hold ASE Master Certifications in both Automotive and Medium/Heavy-Duty Truck categories and am certified by the National RV Inspectors Association at Level II. I am also I-CAR certified, USPAP trained, and have delivered over 1,000 expert reports and 50+ court testimonies.
As a certified vehicle appraiser and court-qualified expert in both state and federal courtrooms, I specialize in mechanical failure analysis, vehicle valuations, RV defect disputes, and fraud or misrepresentation claims.

My path began with military training and overseas deployments, where I was responsible for vehicle repair under extreme pressure. From that foundation, I transitioned into private sector roles—including instructor, inspector, service manager, and now expert consultant.
Since founding TDT, I’ve personally inspected over 5,000 vehicles—including exotic cars, semi-trucks, vintage collectables, and RVs. I manage every inspection personally and remain involved from the first phone call through testimony delivery.

Steve was instrumental in getting a case of mine settled. After I retained his services I got the case resolved only two months after his inspection…

Steven is a young, energetic individual who is taking on the audatious task of competing in a marketplace dominated by very large companies…
William Killion
Steve knows automobiles better than anyone I know. If it has wheels and an engine and there is a problem, Steve will find it no matter how minor.
Shawn Lewinski
Vehicle evidence is some of the most time-sensitive in litigation. Cars get scrapped. Trucks get repaired. Scene conditions change. Black box data is overwritten. Retain a vehicle expert witness early.
