The company’s owner, Stacy Roberts, says it’s unclear what will be done with the boats, though some may be refurbished or sold abroad. Only eight are currently operable. The U.S. Coast Guard will inspect the vessels, but Roberts plans to wait for the outcome of the Branson investigation and any resulting regulations before seeking full certification.
Ripley Entertainment, which bought 22 boats in 2017 including the one that sank, has stored the rest and ceased duck boat operations in Branson.
