His formal training began in the U.S. military, where he served as a Heavy-Duty Vehicle Technician, working on a wide range of mission-critical vehicles. Mr. Paul is ASE Master Certified in both Automotive and Medium/Heavy-Duty Truck categories—credentials that demonstrate deep technical knowledge and a commitment to ongoing education. EXPERIENCE
Steven S. Paul brings over three decades of real-world experience to his role as a vehicle expert witness, with a career spanning military service, private industry, and expert consulting. His foundation was built in the U.S. Armed Forces, where he served as a Heavy-Duty Vehicle Technician. During multiple overseas deployments, he performed full-spectrum maintenance on tactical and commercial vehicles, eventually managing turbine engine readiness and supervising teams of mechanics under high-stakes conditions.
Since 2009, Mr. Paul has led TDT Vehicle Inspection Services, a company he founded to provide independent inspections, appraisals, and litigation support. He has personally performed thousands of inspections on a wide range of vehicles—including exotic cars, antique models, commercial fleets, and recreational vehicles. He has delivered over 1,000 expert reports and been qualified as an expert in both state and federal courts.
His experience includes managing mechanical and tire service centers, directing automotive and diesel technician training programs, and working for auction and transportation companies as an inspector and maintenance lead. Across all roles, Mr. Paul has maintained a sharp focus on mechanical integrity, safety-critical systems, and objective reporting.
